August 16, 2011 :: Eight Year Cake Today was our 8th anniversary. Lorraine made this Chocolate Salted Caramel Cake. We went out to dinner and came home to this goodness. Lorraine still isn't sure if it was worth all of the work (the cake, not the marriage!) , but I thought it was very good.

August 15, 2011 :: Birthday PB & J!! Lorraine made PB & J cupcakes for my birthday today. I decided to try a few "extreme" depth of field shots to see how they turned out. I like this one, and then I decided to try to jazz it up a bit in post processing. Hey, it's my birthday and I'll do what I want! It looks like it might be a few days of food shots. The 16th is our anniversary and there is a rumor going around about a cake in the works.

August 14, 2011 :: Homemade! Lorraine bought an ice cream maker a few weeks ago. This is the strawberry frozen yogurt that she made yesterday. We had a thunderstorm yesterday during the afternoon and I tried to get a picture or 2 of the lighting. It was only lightly raining by us so I could have the camera right outside under an overhang. I put an ND filter on so I could leave the shutter open for 3 seconds to improve my luck. As you can tell by the picture above it didn't help. I didn't get any lighting shots. I missed one because I started talking about something and didn't hit the button, and I missed a second one because it happened in the 2 seconds the timer was counting down. I guess I should get a cable release if I want to try it again. 176 pictures of the same thing! Oh well, the frozen yogurt was good.
