August 27, 2011 :: First Attempt at Star Trails I've been wanting to do this for awhile, but whenever we had a clear night, the moon was out. So this is the first time that I have had a chance to actually try this. While I was out doing this I thought "I should probably use the flash to get a decent shot of the tree to mask in" For some reason I didn't do it. I will make sure to get it done next time, even if it means being eaten alive by the skeeters. I also checked to make sure the shots were coming out at one point (you can see the non smooth part of the trail). So a few lessons learned, but I was expecting it to not turn out at all so I'm happy with the first try. Next time I'll be sure ignore the need to check it, bring a snack and some music to keep me busy! This was about 10 30 second captures. I'll need to be there for awhile to get some nice long trails.

August 26, 2011 :: Cupcakes Lorraine made some cupcakes for a birthday the other day. I really liked the chocolate ones. I'm not sure what was in them but they were tasty. Thanks for the comments on the printed pics yesterday. I was happy with them and I'm sure I'll pick a few to print out larger. Definitely worth the $15 to print them out.

August 25, 2011 :: A Summer's Worth I ordered prints of some of the pictures I took this summer. I didn't do any big ones, I wanted to see how they looked small first. I don't mind looking at them on the screen, but it is always nice to print them out and look at them every once in awhile.
