July 21, 2011 :: Last Day in Turkey We leave for the airport at 3:00 am Turkey time. We aren't looking forward to the flight home, but we have had a great trip. We have been staying with Funda's family in Eregli yesterday and today. Her father and brother produce and sell cheese and butter. I now understand why Funda always talks about the cheese in Turkey, and how she can't find good cheese in MI. Cheese is served at every meal in Turkey and is very good. Feel free to ask your local store to start offering OBAY cheese! Tell them I said it was excellent :)
July 20, 2011 :: Brings out the Turks in you! Cola Turka is the only Turkish cola and their advertisements have an American family sitting around the table singing Take Me Out to the Ballgame, then they drink some Cola Turka and they all go into a patriotic Turkish song. We thought they were pretty funny. We are taking a bus to Ergeli for the last leg of our trip. We will be flying back to the US on Friday.
July 19, 2011 :: Cappadocia Cappadocia is a region that is a mix of the Badlands in SD and the Garden of the Gods in CO mixed with caves that early Christians and other people used to live in and hide from the rest of the world. I'll post some pictures of the caves later. I was a few days behind so I posted 3 pictures today.
